This is from the slut walk. One of the arguments is that girls ask for rape because they wear slutty clothes, short skirts, tight, low-cut tops. This girl is an example of the fact that rape victims can look like anyone, you, me, this girl. Rapists. Dont. Discriminate.

I promised a long time ago that I’d reblog this whenever I saw it on my dash. No regrets, it breaks my heart every single time.

an incredibly important message, rape is rape. no one is ever asking for it. a woman has the right to dress how ever they want - it is society that identifies risque dressing as ‘asking for it’, and in my opinion, that way of thinking needs to be diminished.

Rape isn’t about sex, rapists don’t care what your wearing and whether it generates sex appeal. Rape is about power.

Random creation of my mind.: If you're under the age of 12 you shouldn't even read this; and if you do, you should not reblog.

Just because you were born in 97 doest mean you’re a 90s kid. It’s not like you could remember the original Simpsons … I’m sorry, but three conscious years of the 90s just wont cut it.

You’re a 90s kid if you remember watching:

-Kenan and Kel
-Doug
-Ren & Stimpy
-Pinky and the Brain
-AAAAAAAH! Real Monsters!
-Rocko’s Modern Life
-Animaniacs
-Gargoyles
-Tom and Jerry (when they didnt talk)
-Hey Arnold
-Out of the Box
-Bear in the Big Blue House

You’ve ever ended a sentence with the word PSYCHE!

You remember:

-Step by Step
-Family Matters
-Dinosaurs
-Boy Meets World

You remember when it was actually worth getting up early on a Saturday to watch cartoons.

When everything was settled by:

-Rock, Paper, Scissors
-Bubble gum, bubble gum in a dish

or

-Miss Mary Mack

When kick ball was something you did everyday!!

You used to listen to the radio all day long just to record your FAVORITEsong of ALL time on a tape.

You remember when Super Nintendo and Sega Genisis became popular.

You always wanted to send in a tape to Americas Funniest Home Videos but never taped anything funny.

You remember watching:

-The Magic School Bus
-Wishbone
-Reading Rainbow
-Ghostwriter on PBS

You remember when Yo-Yos were cool and you played with Silly Puddy and Sticky Tac that you stole from the teachers walls.

You remember those Where’s Waldo books.

Those awsome Buzz Lightyear shoes that light up.

You remember watching:

-The 1st Batman
-Aladdin
-Ninja Turtles
-Ghost Busters

You remember Ring Pops!!!

If you remember when every thing was da BOMB!

You remember boom boxes vs. cd players.

You played and/or collected Pogs.

You had at least one Tamagotchi, GigaPet, or Nano and brought it everywhere you went.

You watched the original cartoons of

-Rugrats
-Wild Thornberrys
-Power Rangers
-Rocket Power

All your school supplies were Lisa Frank brand.

If you collected these:

-Beanie Babies
-Yu Gi Oh and Pokemon cards
-Coins with the states on them
-Carebears
-Silver dollars, which were cool to have.

Everyone watched the WB.

If you even know what an original walkman is.

You know the Macarena by heart.

“Talk to the hand…” Enough said.

You went to McDonalds to play in the play place.

Before the MySpace frenzy.
Before the Internet & text messaging.
Before Sidekicks & iPods.
Before PlayStation3 or X-BOX 360.
Before Spongebob.

When light up sneakers were cool and you had spiral spring shoelaces.

When you rented VHS tapes, not DVDs.

When gas was $.75

When you recorded stuff on VCR.

You had slap bracelets!

You Actually played outside until it was dark!

Way back
before we realized all this would eventually disappear.

ONLY REBLOG IF YOU SMILED AT AT LEAST HALF OF THESE THINGS BECAUSE THEY BROUGHT BACK MEMORIES!

Don’t forget Push Pops either. Every single science lesson was either taught by Bill Nye or Ms. Frizzle. Nothing was scarier than Goosebumps and I never knew how to tie my shoes because I loved those spiral laces too much. Every Friday I’d go to Block Buster than the Dollar Tree. I still have my school-bus yellow CD Player and Nintendo Colour, along with my Pokemon red and yellow and my Radio Disney CD. I could sing that first intro to it even now.. I may not be from the early 90’s, nor the late, but I do miss how things were. ♥

Okay, so I was born in ‘97 and I remember like two thirds of this. Maybe where I live is behind the times, maybe I absorbed it through my older brother, but either way, being a 90’s kid is not some special medal that only certain people can claim. It’s a general group of people who have the same cultural references and denying that status to someone based on specific details rather than how well they understand those cultural references is as arbitrary and condescending as telling someone they aren’t a ‘true fan’ of something because they haven’t read all the books/haven’t watched all the episodes/like a certain character/dislike a certain character.

Of course, it shouldn’t matter that I’m not a 90s kid according to your classification anyway, because it doesn’t, shockingly enough, actually make me better or cooler than anyone born in 1989 or 2000, but that’s a different discussion altogether.

STOP SCROLLING.
This is about saving a girls life. Kahlia Wilson goes to my school and is in year 12. She got cancer in her pelvis when she was only 13 years old, and after beating it once it has come back in her chest. Regular medicine is not an option anymore and she needs to travel to Perth for radical cancer treatment. This treatment will cost her family $30,000, money they just don’t have.
